The concept of sleeping mask has been introduced in the market since a couple of years and they had been first introduced by the always popular skin care expert South Koreans a few years back. I never got my hands on them until The Body Shop recently launched their Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask!
About The Looks!
I must say the packaging is gorgeous!! I love it!! The jar comes in a green colored box, on top of which there is a lovely picture of leaves, most probably of the Edelweiss plant which is one of its main ingredients. One of the sides of the box has the picture of the jar with the name of the brand, product and quantity printed on it. Another side has the claims and one other side has the ingredients and other information printed. The jar is made of glass which is recyclable and is of lovely dark green color with a white cap. A spatula is provided with the product therefore minimizing contamination. The container is quite heavy since its a glass jar, so we really have to be careful while handling or traveling. I love the packaging a lot, but its too heavy. May be the product would not go well with the plastic or any other kind of packaging.

My experience with the sleeping mask!
First of all the mask has the weirdest consistency ever!! Its like hot pizza cheese! When I opened the jar some of the product was on the under side of the cap, which is alright, but then it wasn’t separated like other products would, but made a never ending string. See picture below. I had to break it with the spatula and wipe it on the corner of the jar. It wasn’t a problem instead it made it more interesting and made me laugh. I was actually playing with it for the next 10 minutes. 😀 LOL. I think I am weirder!! 😀
Coming to the texture, its very light, very fluffy, but very creamy too. It won’t absorb completely immediately but would stay on the face just like a mask. Also I discovered that if you really massage it through for a couple of more minutes it does get absorbed a little and wouldn’t feel much on the face. You still do feel it on but not too much. You don’t need too much of the product, just a little goes a long way. I apply this on my face and neck as my last skin care product, after I am done with my usual night time skin care routine. And then I go to sleep! 🙂
When I woke up the next morning, I felt my skin was quite hydrated but I couldn’t see anything else. I kept using it every night after that and after 2 weeks I noticed visible difference in my skin! My skin was smoother, plump, soft, refreshed and was looking healthy! It was glowing! During my initial days of using it, I was getting disappointed and thought it would not do anything, but you got to have some patience!
It did not irritate my skin or break me out even with so much of product on my face all night. Which is such a relief! It smells like some plant may be Edelweiss and is quite refreshing!
