In the hunt for some off beat fall/winter nail colors, I stumbled upon a picture posted by one of the fellow bloggers wearing a nail paint which I really loved. The next day I was at the Central Aerocity launch covered here, and I found the same shade and got it for myself. It was the Rimmel London Salon Pro Kate Nail Paint in Punk Rock (711)! I have used this nail paint the entire winters literally and I am ready to share my views on this today!
About The Looks!
The nail paint comes in a round transparent bottle with a black cap. The bottle has the name of the product and the shade on the front side. There are some stickers stuck on the bottle which has the price and other information. The top of the cap has Rimmel’s logo and the cap is a little slated from top. I like the packaging, the bottle is big and sturdy and it looks nice too.
Price – 275/-
Net Content – 12 ml or 0.4 fl oz
Ingredients – Not on the bottle
Shelf Life – 30 months
My views and thoughts about the Rimmel Salon Pro Kate nail Paint in the shade Punk Rock 711!
I got this nail paint purely because I was attracted towards its offbeat color. The color is a very unique dark gray which has blue or purple undertones. Its undertones make it pretty different from other grays. I like the colour and it’s actually good for fall and winter. So I wouldn’t want to wear this color at any time of the year, its dark and grungy and suits at the fall or winter only.
The pigmentation is opaque only after the second coat. The first coat applies a little patchy and sheer but the second coat makes it perfectly opaque and even. The finish is shiny but not super glossy. The consistency is okay but starts drying when comes in contact with air and therefore it starts clumping a little. You need to be really fast and be sitting in a place which does not have much wind.
The lasting power is not very good on me. I have to wash my hands frequently and without a topcoat it starts chipping a little for the very tip of the nails the very next day. With the topcoat it stays on for two days and then starts chipping a little in the same way.

I like the color a lot but not happy with the lasting power much. Even with all the claims “Lasts up to 10 days” didn’t work on my nails. I don’t know what role Lycra plays in this nail paint formula but it didn’t wow me. The formula and consistency is just okay, the only thing I like is the color and the pigmentation and opaqueness that comes after the second coat. I think there are much better nail paints in the market in lesser price. If you love the color too, you can go for this one or else you can skip it.
