Okay, so, in the series of the Maybelline lipstick reviews, here is my third one! Today I will be reviewing the Maybelline Color Show Lipstick in the shade Ruby Twilight!! The last two I reviewed from this collection were from the pink color family, this one is a red! So let’s get started with the review and see if I like it!
About the Looks!
The lipstick comes in a black square tube packaging with rounded edges. The case is not sturdy and is of cheap quality. It attracts a lot of dust and gets easily scratched. There is a stripe of color between the bottom and the cap of the lipstick which is of the color of the lipstick. Its not very accurate but can tell which one is pink or fuchsia and which one is red. The bottom of the lipstick has a sticker of the color of the lipstick with the name of the brand, collection and shade name and number of the lipstick printed on it. The bottom can help better to locate the particular shade than the stripe provided.

My experience with this lipstick!
I will start with the pigmentation, which is really good! In one single swipe you can get the color, if you want you can layer up one more time and it would not look cakey. Its really good! The pigmentation is so strong that it leaves a stain behind, which is quite patchy. I love the stains that lipsticks leave behind, but this stain doesn’t happen to be what I like. The color is a cool toned red. It actually is a ruby color but with a lot of berry undertones. If you understand what I mean. Its a very pretty color and for winters it can really be a very nice pick for all the dark and deep lipstick lovers!
Coming to the texture, again; its the same creamy-glossy finish. Which you might know by now that I am not very fond of. However, the application is pretty smooth and even and looks really good.
The lasting power is the same around 4 hours without any meal or drinks. It transfers a lot because of its texture. The best part is that even though the color is so dark and highly pigmented, it still does not feather, at least on my lips! Which is really great and that would mean you could wear it without a lip liner! Although its totally optional.
It has a fruity smell to it which is not bothering and tastes like chemical.
Overall, I really like this lipstick a lot. Its probably the best in the whole Color Show collection! Great pigmentation, smooth application and lovely color!! I surely recommend this lipstick to everyone who want to try a dark color in a reasonable price!! 😀
