I know its a little too much, but still I am back with yet another lipstick review!! If you have read my haul posts, you would know that I got four of these lipsticks. I have reviewed one out of them already and today I am going to review another!! This time it’s Maybelline Color Show Lipstick in the shade Cherry Crush!! Okay, so let’s get started with the review!!
About the Looks!
The packaging is the same as Crushed Candy, but will still describe again.
The lipstick comes in a black square tube packaging with rounded edges. The case is not sturdy and is of cheap quality. It attracts a lot of dust and gets easily scratched. There is a stripe of color between the bottom and the cap of the lipstick which is of the color of the lipstick. Its not very accurate but can tell which one is pink or fuchsia and which one is red. The bottom of the lipstick has a sticker of the color of the lipstick with the name of the brand, collection and shade name and number of the lipstick printed on it. The bottom can help better to locate the particular shade than the stripe provided.

My experience with this lipstick!
Okay, so this shade is a warm pink color. Its a cherry color as the name suggests, but still has pink undertones. Actually, to me, it looks like a pink color with red undertones. The color looks really pretty when swatched on the arm, but how it looks on your face will depend on your skin tone. It can either make you look dull or really pretty. It’s a different and a pretty color and many of you would love it! Its neither very dark or bright, nor absolutely sheer.
Coming to the part of pigmentation, a single swipe gives average color but a couple of swipes will give you the desired pigmentation. Its not sheer, but needs a slight layering and its okay with me. The texture is highly creamy, in fact quite glossy! Under natural light or sunlight it would appear as creamy, however, under artificial light it will appear as a really glossy lipstick. It is because of the creamy texture plus the sheen in the lipstick. The creaminess and the shimmer adds up to make the lipstick look glossy. I personally love mattes, semi-mattes or creamy mattes. This one is not my favorite because of the sheen in it. I don’t like lipstick with pearl or shimmery finish much, because somehow they make me look dull. But if you like such finish, it will be a great pick for you.
The lipstick has a fruity smell which is not much bothering and it has chemical like taste to it.
The lasting power of this lipstick is fair given its finish and quality. It lasts for about 4 hours, without eating or drinking. But it does kind of dulls after a couple of hours.
The application is smooth and not patchy at all. It’s better than Crushed Candy in terms of application, pigmentation and color.
Overall, I like the color and pigmentation to a certain extent, but not happy with the shimmery/glossy/pearl finish. It could have been better. Just this reason can make me wear or ditch a lipstick! Its that important to me, doesn’t matter how good the color is! But given the price, I guess it’s an okay deal!
