The recent launch of the new nail paint collection from Maybelline called Maybelline Color Show Glitter Mania has been raved about so much that I finally had to get some and give them a try. I personally am not very big fan of glitter nail polishes and would only “try” them if they amazingly appealing in the bottle. So I hesitated to try them out for some time until one fine day!!
I was walking through the cosmetic aisle and stopped at the Maybelline counter to see their new collection and then I saw a girl swatching one of the glitter mania shades. I was drawn towards how they looked on her nails! I was surprised literally!! In awe I wanted to swatch all of them on my nails too! So I asked the S.A. to swatch the ones that kinda looked pretty in the bottle. And I am surprised myself but I FELL IN LOVE with them!!!! OMG!! I had never came across such beautiful looking glitter nail paints!!
About the Collection!
The collection is specifically of glitter nail polishes consisting of total 8 shades. The shades have their names and numbers both. The packaging is the same like the other Color Show nail polishes with the only difference of Glitter Mania written on a silver background on the cap of the bottle. I have no complaints around the packaging.

My Experience with the collection!
As I mentioned above that there are eight shades in the collection. Each color has its own performance. Some are quite pigmented and one coat is enough and some are quite sheer and 2 or 3 coats would be required to get the desired pigmentation and effect on nails. I have the same views around the formulation of the nail polishes, in fact the formulation is another factor deciding if the nail polish will be sheer or opaque. Some of them amazing formulas! Opaque, beautiful pigmentation and thickness! I have my favorites and not so favorites from the collection.
- Starry Nights
- Pink Champagne
- Bling on the Blue
- All That Glitters
- Matinee Mauve
The ones I don’t love much
- Paparazzi Purple
- Dazzling Diva
- Red Carpet
I love the colors and the look they give a lot!! Each color imparts a different look on your nails. The texture is sandy but not bothersome at all!! Each color has a different amount of shine or sheen. Some have a great luminescence and some are not that strong. But each color makes its own statement. Some may not be of my taste or good for me, but surely the collection is for everyone and one will certainly find at least two shades of their likes in the collection!
These nail paints last fairly long! The ones with better formulas last for more than 4-5 days without chipping without any top coat! That’s awesome!!
The only trouble one can get with the glitter nail paint is removing them! Ohhh it is a very tedious and a little frustrating part. But I think it was totally worth it!! After they made the nails look so beautiful for about a week!!
To remove the nail paint, take generous amount of nail paint remover on a cotton pad and put and press over the nail for a few seconds. This will thin the nail paint, dissolve it a bit and will make a little bit easy to remove. The cotton might stick to your nails and give you a feeling of glue on your nails, but don’t panic, it will come off. You might see some residual glitter on your fingers, that will also wash away.
Stay tuned for posts where I will be doing “Nails of the Day” showing how these look on nails and will discuss performance of each one of them in detail!
I would say I am overall quite happy with the entire collection. I’m going to play around these nail paints in fall and winter a lot more, because for me particularly, glitter nail paints look best in winter! A couple of them can be easily carried off in summers, but ,most of them have the warmth that will look amazing in winters! I can’t wait for that!! September is already here and winters are not very far!!
So that’s it for today! I will be back with some more exciting posts!!
Till then stay awesome and have a blessed day!! XOXO
