I never thought I would buy this palette and I got it just by luck. Actually I didn’t even know if it existed! What happened is that I asked my hubby to get me the Kat Von D’s Mi Vida Loca palette but instead he got me the Monarch Eyeshadow Palette, saying this was the only one available. I was not happy but wasn’t sad either. When I looked at the colors of the palette I actually got a little excited! Today I am going to review it today for you all!
About The Looks!
The packaging is gorgeous and high quality! The orange and black packaging and the design is so pretty! The palette case is not a metal one but is something like a fabric which is used in handbags or wallets. Honestly I really have no idea about what the material is. The lid closes and stays closed with the help of magnet. I think there must be some metal underneath after all. There is a great quality mirror provided on the under side of the lid. The butterfly shaped motives and patterns makes it look really pretty!! Overall I love the packaging!

My thoughts and views about the Monarch Palette!
When you look at the shadows in the palette you will notice that it has a great mix of warm and cool toned shades, there are a couple of neutral shades as well which will go well on any skin tone. All the bottom nine shadows are amazing!! They have excellent pigmentation. You need to be really careful using the dark shadows, just take very little amount because you can always add more color but once a lot of color goes on the lid, it will not be possible to reduce it. There is only one shade which doesn’t do justice to the pigmentation as compared to the other ones in the palette and that is the 5th shadow, the silver one. The texture is super buttery and easy to pack on. They are smooth and even on application and extremely blendable. I had to work a little bit extra with the black shade while blending it out, that’s given due to its color.
Coming to the top three highlighters. I use the first one after applying the concealer to highlight my under eye area and the second one to highlight my face. I haven’t used the third one yet and I am still figuring out where to use it, I might use it as an eye base. The reason why I haven’t used this is because it has subtle amount of shimmer in it. Its not absolutely matte nor shimmery, but somewhere in between. These shadows last insanely long!! With an eyeshadow primer your eye make up game is going to be much more stronger!! The shadows do not crease or get patchy.
I love all the shadow colors in this palette! They are amazing and you can achieve a dark smokey eye look or even a light day time smokey look using this palette. I LOVE the second highlighting shade! It looks stunning!! Its currently my top favorite and most go to highlighter for face.
This is an amazing palette! If you love smokey eyes and warm or neutral shades, this one is for you!! The shade I use for highlighting my face is beautiful! My favorite now!! It is certainly expensive, but totally worth the money!
