Innisfree is already pretty popular for it awesome skin care products and I love their sheet masks! Such, that I can’t even imagine living without them! I keep stocking them up! Their Green Tea Seed Serum is one of the best and there are much more! In makeup, I have tried very few products which includes its Cushion foundation (reviewed here) and a lipstick (reviewed here). While I was on another shopping spree in the store I spotted the Innisfree Smart Foundation | Water Balancing. It was affordable and I decided to try it out! I have been using this product every now and then and today I will share my views on it!
About The Looks!
I kind of like the packaging! It quite subtle and chic. The foundation comes packed in an off-white box with some floral pattern on it. The foundation comes in a tube form with a nozzle on top which I love as it makes taking the right amount of foundation out, pretty easy! The tube is off-white with hints of beige color and has a screw on cap. I really like the packaging! It’s different than others and pretty unique and travel-friendly too!

My views and thoughts about the Innisfree Smart Foundation!
Let me talk about the shade first. Since this is a Korean brand they have very limited shade options available. I got the shade # 23 which is the darkest they have! This kind of bummed me a little as not everyone can use it in India. Only people with my skin tone or fairer than me can use this foundation. Fortunately, the shade matches to my skin tone, however, if I get tanned even a little, it does not. The quantity is pretty less even for the price, that is what I feel. I think there should be a little more than this.
Coming to the formula and finish of this foundation. The first impression of this foundation was amazing and it stands till date! I love this foundation! It doesn’t look cakey and applies evenly and blends amazingly well on the skin. It looks so natural that no one can make out that you are wearing a foundation! It looks amazing on the skin! I just loved it! The finish is not matte and not dewy either, it’s someone where in between. It keeps the skin hydrated without making it look greasy. In summers or fall time I use it with a mattifying powder and its good to go and in winters I can use it on its own without any powder and it will still look good. Though setting the foundation with a radiant finish powder will ensure that the foundation stays put all day!
This foundation is not full coverage, rather it is light to medium coverage. People with melasma, skin pigmentation, dark sun spots will have to use a concealer or corrector with it because it won’t be able to cover those. A light mark or very light pigmentation can be covered without any problem. It would be great for people who have spotless skin otherwise people like me use concealer or corrector under it.
This foundation is great for day time wear or office wear, where you just need to even out the skin tone a little bit without making it look overdone. Sometimes I use it without any concealer or corrector and my melasma and sun spots are faintly visible and I am alright with it! It’s because it still evens out the skin tone pretty much, just can’t cover the very dark spots.
The foundation lasted on me for more than 8 hours when I set it with a good mattifying powder. On its own it lasts for about 6 hours and then starts fading a little. Therefore, setting the foundation is very important to make it last for a longer time!
I love this foundation a lot and I will certainly get another one once I am done with it. The quantity is less so this might get over soon. I think Innisfree should consider increasing the amount and the shade range for Indian skin tones. Because otherwise, not everyone would be able to use this wonderful foundation! I love it and I recommend it to all the fair skin toned people, apologies to the medium and dark skin ones.
