ASUS is a well-known brand in smartphone and laptop category and has been in news in India for quite a while now. I was a part of the event when it was first launched in India (which is covered here and here). Since then ASUS has never ceased to surprise and impress me! Adding on to that, I recently received the latest ASUS Zenfone 3 to get the real time hands-on experience! I have been using it for more than a month now and today I will share my experience with it!
About The Looks!
The one I got to experience was silver like white in colour with a gold rim on the edges. The phone is pretty sleek and feels premium. The rear camera is protruding slightly out of the body and has a flash and fingerprint reader jut below that. The phone is big yet pretty thin and has a pretty big screen too. Though it’s a little heavier than my previous phone but given that it is bigger it still is light. I really like the way it feels in the hands. The metal body is very smooth and looks beautiful!

My experience with the performance of the ASUS Zenfone 3!
After going through its key features and specifications I was really excited to try it out and was really expecting a lot from it. The phone is pretty smooth when it comes to navigation within the app or between a few apps. From registration to setting a pin code and finger print it was actually impressive. Finger print system was really amazing for me. You can choose the finger you would touch most frequently and set it for the lock. Now every time you touch the finger print sensor at the back it will instantly unlock the phone without any extra step. I really loved this feature as in my previous phone though you could set two finger prints but you still need to press the button to unlock the phone, merely touching won’t do.
The processor is Octa-core and you can actually feel it in it’s processing speed and power. I can scroll through data pretty fast and easily. It never really hangs but the clarity while scrolling still has a scope of improvement. The memory given with the phone is more than enough and would take a long time to exhaust it. You can store a lot of songs, videos, pictures and even download apps and still have some spare memory. However, if it still is less for you the additional card memory slot will give you up to 256 GB storage which is huge!! I don’t think I will ever be able to use it fully. It would take years without deleting anything to exhaust everything. But yes, for that you do need to insert a 256 GB card.
Camera is pretty good too. The pictures have good clarity and doesn’t pixelate. The zoom is good too but the picture quality gets a little poor in a fully zoomed picture and it kind of pixelate as well. For objects that are near for example a tea cup will give a much better picture in full zoom as compared to the setting sun. If a picture of a setting sun is taken in full zoom it doesn’t come out that great and clear. The front camera has an amazing beauty feature which comes in handy while taking selfies. I would say that I got some of the best selfies by far with this phone! Even without any makeup while travelling, the picture quality was so good and I looked fresh and nice! I am not a fan of using flash unless I really have to. Below are some of the images taken from this phone.
The phone also comes with its internal apps in ASUS folder like ZenCircle, ASUS Backup, etc., through which you can get in touch with the ASUS Zenfone community and explore things or get help when needed. The battery is another thing that left me impressed. If a person only needs to check social media, take some calls and chat. The phone battery will actually last for more than a day. If I don’t do anything and the phone is sitting idle then the battery will last for two to three days approximately. Now, if you watch YouTube videos and that too for hours then the battery will last you for one day and it would need to be recharged at the end of the day. It sure does lasts longer than many other smartphones I have seen!
Overall I am happy with this device and its performance. It looks good and performs well too! Its sleek body and the metal silvery finish makes it look beautiful and the big screen makes the experience of watching videos or movies even better! I loved the selfie from this camera, though the primary rear camera is excellent, I would still say there is a need of improvement in full zoom pictures. The processing speed, shuffling between multiple apps, memory, internal as well as expandable and battery life has all left me impressed. It sure is an amazing product and anyone who owns it won’t have any complains or problems! So, if you are looking for a phone with a budget of around 20 thousand this phone will not disappoint you. It actually an amazing product for this price! This one in particular retails at 21,999/-
I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful! I will be back with many others very soon! Have a great day!! B-Bye!
