This winter, of 2022, I was looking for a hydrating cream because all I had were of super light textures and my skin went dry too quickly, like within 2-3 hours. Dot & Key was a brand that had been in my wish-list and I wanted to try something from it. This seemed to be a pretty good opportunity for the same! I ordered the Dot and Key Green Screen Skin Detox Smoothie which is listed as Avocado Smoothie Cream on the brand website.

About the Looks!
One of the major reasons that I really wanted to try this brand was its packaging! OMG! Its superbly cute, aesthetic and attractive! This cream comes in a glass jar packed in a pretty pastel green quirky box. The jar is translucent with a false bottom. The cap of the jar is truly unique to Dot and Key. It is shaped like a hat! A white hat shaped cap! No need to stress any further how much I love how it looks. Though it is slightly heavy but it still is travel friendly. Pretty sturdy.
The cream is of really light pastel green colour and feels pretty wet. It wasn’t as rich or heavy as I had imagined or hoped. The cream spreads nicely and takes in a little massaging to get absorbed or at least feels like absorbed. I felt the cream was good in terms of hydration. Basically, it did the job it was supposed to do, however, It still wasn’t the best to be used in winter. The cream comes with SPF 20 which is good but not so beneficial, practically speaking. You still got to wear a sunscreen on top of it. This is where I noticed the major problem with this cream.
This cream apparently does not support any sunscreen layered on top. It flakes! Even if applied after a couple of hours, it flakes! Initially I thought there was something wrong with my skin, then I thought the sunscreen was the culprit because the sunscreen was also a new one that I was trying. It was later that I tried different sunscreens and used another cream in place of this and that’s when I discovered it was the cream. It was so annoying and disappointing. I really had high hopes with this cream but unfortunately it fell short on most. I could live with not much hydrating texture but not this!
I wouldn’t ask you not to buy this cream because I am not sure if it will react the same way on your skin as it did on mine! I definitely don’t recommend it but you may still give it a try.
