The Body Shop Jacqueline’s Limited Edition Makeup Collection 2.0 Review | RougePouts

It might be an odd way to start a review post by saying that I am a huge fan of Jacqueline Fernandez!! OMG!! I love everything about her! She is extremely beautiful and such a down to earth person! More than that what I admire about her, even more, is her way to fitness! She is one of the fittest and flexible actress Bollywood ever had! For me, she is THE fittest of all!! She certainly influences me in my fitness journey! Anyway, I can go on and on about her but I must get back to the real subject here, which is her new limited edition makeup collection launch with The Body Shop! The previous launch included the liquid lipsticks and eyeshadow quads. I have reviewed and swatched some of the liquid lipsticks here and here. So far I have really loved their makeup launches, especially the liquid lipsticks! I super love them!! Anyway, apart from these 4 products I also got The Body Shop Lash Hero Eye-Widening Lash Reviver Mascara. Sounds quite intriguing, isn’t it? I will review that in a separate post.

The shades I got for the foundation, color stick and Shine lip liquid are mentioned below –

  • Foundation – Japanese Maple 034
  • Colour Stick – Bali Sunstone
  • Lash Hero Fibre Extension Mascara – Texas Topaz 04 (Navy Blue)
  • Shine Lip Liquid – Strawberry Bonbon 002

My thoughts about The Body Shop Jacqueline’s Limited Edition Makeup Collection 2.0!

Foundation – When any foundation says matte, I am all game for it! I have a combination skin and probably I have mentioned it over 50 times already in my blogs but one of you might be new to my blog! Anyway, combination skin, especially in summers, can create a havoc and the matte foundations really save me! This one from The Body Shop is not only matte but it also claims to be skin clarifying and its 100% vegan! Well, that’s indeed the best part! The foundation is available in a total of 7 shades and that means that one will certainly find their shade!

First and foremost, the shade of the foundation matched my skin tone just perfectly! Yay! Thumbs up for that! The second thing I noticed was the finish of this foundation. It’s no joke, truly, really matte!! It has soft and a slightly powdery feel to it when I use my hands to blend it in. It blends really well both using brush and hands (Haven’t used it with the sponge yet). This foundation lasted me for more than 5 hours and I was left really impressed! The coverage is sheer-medium. For any skin that has any dark spot or marks, you would still need a concealer to hide it. It’s very light on the skin doesn’t clog my pores. Very breathable! The goodness of the tea tree and Rhassoul clay infused in the foundation clarifies and keeps zits at bay.

Eye Colour Stick – Eyeshadow sticks are pretty tricky, some of them work, some don’t. Honestly, I wasn’t so sure about this one either. I had my fingers crossed when I used it for the first time. The shadow color is just beautiful! I love the peachy gold shimmery color. The pigment is good and buildable. I love the fact that it is blendable! I don’t really like harsh edges to my shadows so blending any creamy shadow is extremely important to me and this just blends beautifully!

The Body Shop Eye Colour Stick – Bali Sunstone

I loved how it looked on my eyelids, it looked beautiful! The shadow lasted pretty well, the maximum I wore it for was for around 8 hours and this one stayed intact! I was impressed! It doesn’t transfer but it is not smudge-proof. If you rub it with your hand accidentally, it will come off. I love the fact that this product is pretty versatile and can be used for both day and night looks or soft and bold look. The color that I got is stunning and I can’t wait to get my hands on the other shades from the collection!

Lash Hero Fibre Extension Mascara – The concept of this mascara is pretty interesting as well as intriguing. This is a dual ended mascara, one of which has the fibers and the other has the mascara. The wand of the fiber end is thinner than that of the mascara. The thinner end helps coat the lashes with the fibers nicely and then a coat of the mascara makes the lashes look fuller and voluminous! Even with all that fiber and mascara coats, it does not feel heavy. This mascara curls my lashes and lasts for a long time, well, I wore it for around 5-6 hours.

The mascara that I have is in the shade of blue and I super LOVE the color! It makes my eyes look great! It adds a slight pop of color which doesn’t look odd at all! It is available in two more colors as mentioned above. The fact that it is 100% vegan makes it suitable for everyone, especially the ones with sensitive eyes!

Shine Lip Liquid – It’s really hard to find a good non-sticky yet high-shine lip gloss. With The Body Shop launching its Shine Lip Liquid, I had my hopes high up. I have the shade Strawberry Bonbon and it’s a very pretty bright pink. At first, I thought it would be too pale for my skin tone but I was wrong! It looked perfect. Since it is a high shine liquid its color is not very opaque and I like to wear it both on its own and as a top coat on my lipstick. It makes my lips look plump and fuller! This lip liquid keeps my lips hydrated and the two moisturizing community trade oils – Marula oil and Argan Oil, also help restore the dry lips back to life.

To summarize, I would say that I am totally impressed with this collection. I love the foundation and I think it will be my go-to foundation this summer. The shadow stick and the mascara performed beyond my expectations. I love the lasting power and pigmentation of both and this is despite them being vegan! The shine lip liquid is something that should be a staple in every purse! It’s a makeup product that makes your lips look plump and fuller and hydrates and heals them too! I highly recommend all these products to you all! I can say I am a fan of The Body Shop!
