I cannot leave home without using a sunscreen, be it summers or winters, I need sun protection big time! The reason is the melasma I have on my face which darkens and worsens if I expose my skin to the sun without any sun protection. I have used a variety of sunscreens all the while and I keep changing it. I mean I like to use different brands but the SPF should be minimum of 50. I was using the Kiehl’s one earlier so wanted to check out other higher end brands. I got two of them which I mentioned in this haul post here. One of them was Avène Eau Thermale Creme SPF 50+ that I have been using it for more than a month. Today I am going share my review on the same!
About The Looks!
The product comes in an orange box which has the name of the brand and the product mentioned in front and indications, safety instructions, properties, claims, ingredients etc on the sides of the box. Inside the box there is an orange tube with a pump and a transparent cap containing the sunscreen. I love the fact that it has a pump which makes taking the product out really easy and it also controls the amount you take out. I love the orange color packaging as well, looks and feels like sunscreen. The material is very good quality and feels very high end. A big thumbs up!! 😀

My thoughts and views about this Avène Eau Thermale SPF 50+!
Let me talk about its consistency and texture first. This sunscreen is white colored liquid which is a little thicker than normal. The packaging says Crème and so the liquid is cream based and not very runny. Sometimes when a little bit of product is left outside on the mouth of the pump, it actually solidifies the next day. Though it is chemical sunscreen but it feels like physical one. The texture is quite creamy but it leaves no greasiness or shine. This is the best part, as I thought, with that thick consistency it might leave my skin pretty greasy and shiny.
It does not leave any white cast on my face. It does appear a little whitish when I start applying but after proper blending, it appears absolutely normal. A good thing again! Now comes the sun protection factor. I am loving the sun protection it provides me! My melasma has faded a lot and my skin appears pretty much even toned now. I get to know if the sunscreen is working or not by the appearance of my melasma spots and it has gone down drastically. I am really happy about it. The sunscreen covers very broad spectrum UV protection, though it does not says anything about UVB but I don’t think that is a problem at all. The crème formula is for dry and sensitive skin and I have combination skin. Honestly I was not aware that they have an emulsion formula for combination to oily skin which I am going to look for next after I finish this one.
This sunscreen is worth every penny! If this sunscreen can work on my melasma so well, I am sure that it would be great on the skin which has no spots. It will certainly keep the sun spots and aging away! Invest in this great product and thank me later! Save your skin this summer, it really needs your love and care!
