So I received a set of Table Mats in my mail a few days back from an NGO named Kala Drishti. To be honest I wasn’t sure if the Table Mats would be any different from what we find in the market or big malls. Then I was informed that the NGO actually supports the upcoming artists to create their designs and products and help them market them and make some sales. Both get benefitted and actually the concept is pretty great because all an artist needs in the initial days of struggle is some kind of support.
So the NGO sells all kinds of handmade products and products that are though not handmade but designed by the artists. The Table Mats that I received weren’t handmade but the print on them was designed by an artist of the NGO.
The color and pattern of these mats were really different and unique in itself. Not something that we can find in the market. If you see in the pictures below the mats I received has the bright color scheme with lots of reds and yellows which I really love and the print seems to be modern yet with a tribal touch to it. I really love the abstract pattern which adds a bright pop of color to my dark dining table.
The mats are pretty thick and have a glossy finish. Honestly, I haven’t seen such thick mats in the market. A set that I already owned is pretty thin. The thickness adds a little safety factor for my delicate crockery. As of now, I like everything about these mats, though the durability factor will be clear only with time. They look sturdy and of good quality so I am hoping that these will last me pretty long. 🙂
That’s all for today and I really hope you like this post and find it informative and helpful. I will be back with more. Have a lovely day! B-Bye!!
